I haven’t posted about our menu for a while, so I thought I would play along with I’m an Organizing Junkie today.
Amy, Shane and I bought a year’s subscription to Saving Dinner’s Menu Mailer. They have a great assortment of weekly menus. We picked out the Low Carb option. What’s so great about it is that they give a complete grocery list of everything you need for the week so we don’t even have to make a list, we just print it out and add to it! So far, we’re really enjoying the menu and the meals that we are getting. Unfortunately, because it’s proprietary, I won’t be publishing any of the recipes here (they can unsubscribe us from the mailer), but I can tell you what we’re eating!! LOL. They only give 6 meals per week, so we have to come up with something for one of the nights, but that’s not usually too hard.
Saturday ~ Chicken Parmesan, Noodles and Sauce (kids), broccoli & cauliflower (grups)
Sunday ~ Taco Quiche and Salad
Monday ~ Tomato Pork Chops, Faux-tay-toes, broccoli, and potatoes for the kids
Tuesday ~ Crockpot drumsticks, coleslaw, salad and rolls for the kids
Wednesday ~ Chicken Salad Wraps
Thursday ~ Cranberry Roast Beef, potatoes, carrots & faux-tay-toes for the grups
Friday ~ Veggie Fish Italiano, Red Potatoes, Salad
Since we’ve been doing the low carb mailer (about 2 weeks)…between the 3 of us, we’ve lost approximately 20 lbs. Best of all, we’re feeling better physically. We aren’t cutting out carbs completely, we are just not eating a lot of them. When we do eat them, we are making far better choices, like brown rice, whole grain breads, etc. We’re eating a lot of cauliflower and broccoli, and tons of salads.
