Menu Plan Monday ~ October 10, 2011

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!  Hope all of you who celebrated this weekend had a great time with family and friends!  Did you have a turkey dinner?  Do you have any other Thanksgiving traditions?

We had a terrific day, with fabulous weather.  I made the works for dinner.  We go big for Thanksgiving because we don’t have a big turkey dinner at Christmas (we host a brunch instead).  We had Shane’s mother over to celebrate with us.

The 17 lb turkey I made

Of course, we stuffed ourselves silly!

It’s that time again!  Menu Plan Monday over at I’m an Organizing Junkie.  Go on over and check out all the other great menus.

Saturday ~ Pork Roast, Mashed Potatoes, Salad
Sunday ~ Thanksgiving dinner
Monday ~ Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole (on my recipe page)
Tuesday ~ Hamburgers and Salad
Wednesday ~ Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Vegetables
Thursday ~ Sandwich Wraps and Coleslaw
Friday ~ Sausage Soup and Homemade bread

Today we went out to the orchard to pick apples!  We spent $37.00 on our apples today, but it was well worth it!  We also purchased six small pumpkins and one big one to carve.  We met our friend Allison and her family at the orchard and we had a blast!

Have a terrific week everyone!!

  1. Oh everything looks so yummy! We skipped the turkey this year cuz we had one on Labor day and will again for Christmas day. We ate a pizza casserole and garlic fingers!!!

    Your weekly menu looks yummy.

  2. The turkey looks fabulous!! Yum! I didn’t have Thanksgiving dinner… Stupid food allergies.. 😦 Sausage soup sounds good… What in it?

    • It’s similar to the Oktoberfest Sausage Soup that is on my recipe page. I just put a mish mash of stuff in…this week it will be 1 tetra pak of fat free beef broth, 2 large cans diced tomatoes, 2 cans of water, celery, onion, red peppers, zucchini, mild italian sausage right from the butcher, italian seasoning to taste and fresh garlic, and then I throw in a cup of pasta and simmer it until the pasta is soft and serve. Sometimes we’ll put in a can or two of mixed beans instead of the pasta. The kids LOVE it…they’ve been begging for soup for a month now, and it hasn’t been cold enough outside, lol.
