I have been feeling really down lately for reasons I don’t care to share…but let’s just say I am in a bit of a funk. It’s mostly all in my head, but it’s there nonetheless.
So…on Valentine’s Day…I got a bit spoiled by my family. I am usually a really bah humbug kind of person when it comes to Valentine’s Day, I don’t like the holiday, the commercialism of it, how it makes people who are unattached feel insignificant, etc. I got home from work and the house was cheesily (is that a word?) decorated with streamers and balloons and there were roses, a cute stuffed elephant (I love elephants), and a gift. All the kids made me awesome cards. We made dinner for the kids and the grups ate Swiss Chalet. It was really, really, nice.
They succeeded in cheering me up, which was their goal…I am still a bit down, but not as bad as I was on Sunday.

Sunday ~ Cranberry Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli
Monday ~ Peameal Bacon on a Bun and cole slaw (Swiss Chalet for the grups)
Tuesday ~ Chicken Chili and Cornmeal Muffins
Wednesday ~ Slow Cooker Steak and Potato Soup, bread
Thursday ~ Chicken, Rice, Vegetables
Friday ~ Meri’s Birthday dinner ~ Lasagna, Caesar Salad and Birthday Cake **
**Meri’s birthday is actually February 17th…however, it’s easier to celebrate it on a Friday, so that’s what we’re going to do. She’s 2, she won’t know the difference!
Good news on the weigh-in front too! I lost another 1.8 lbs this week. Brings my total up to 14.4 pounds since December 27th. I am on track for 15 lbs by my birthday (March 6th) probably sooner…oh yeah!!!
