Menu Plan Monday ~ Sept 27, 2010

Happy Fall!  I love, love, love the fall…the crisp, clean air, the trees turning their stunning colours, being able to see your breath in the morning without  a ton of snow on the ground.

We had a busy and fun weekend.  Saturday we went off the Samko-Miko Toy Warehouse to start our Christmas shopping.  We find it’s a great place to go for gifts for the littles (Meri, Charlotte, and Aaron).  We were able to do between 1/3 and 1/2 of our shopping and we spent $236.   The hardest people to buy for though are Evan, and Allen.  Neither one of them are very vocal about things they might want and they normally don’t want a lot.  In contrast, Austan and Andrew tell us what they want every 5 seconds.

Yesterday, Amy and I got to meet an online friend who was visiting Toronto from North Carolina.  I have known C from around the same time we were pregnant with our 6-year-olds, but we’d never met in person.  We had such a fun time with “C” and her hubby “J”.  We’re hoping to see them again this week before they fly back home.

We have a very busy week this week.  We’ve got scouting registration, school open house and swimming lessons are starting up again.  I am carting children around almost every day.

Here’s our menu for the week:

Sunday ~ Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

Monday ~ Curried Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans

Tuesday~ Chicken Corn Chowder

Wednesday ~ Squash and Spinach Quick Quiche

Thursday ~ Chicken Legs, Pasta and Sauce and Corn

Friday ~ Make your own Pita Pizzas, Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert (Allen turns 10!)

Saturday ~ Apple Juice Pork and Rice

Don’t forget to go and check out all the menus at I’m An Organizing Junkie’s website

Have you tried having a christmas wish list up for everyone? We do that every year. That way, when you’re at a loss hopefully there is something on their list within your budget. The list rules are generally:

    a) you may put whatever you want on it
    b) there is no guarantee you get any one specific item or ANYTHIGN at all on your list
    c) no one has to buy anything from your list; it is a guideline to allow people to view what you think you would like in case it might help them if they are at a loss.
    d) there is nothing wrong with ignoring someone’s wish list and buying them “that perfect present” you saw somewhere.

We usually put them up around end of november, but this year Steve jumped the gun and put them up about a month ago. 😉 LOL. Nyssa’s is already expanded from the original page to 3 complete pages. Most of which is “this or that doll” or “this or that princesse costume”… 😉 LOL. But still…there are some neat things on there at times. 🙂
